BridgeNews was a New York City-based wire service that was once known as Knight-Ridder Financial. My responsibilities were to post forward US power prices to the terminal, write power market stories and run this free newsletter about power plants in development.
.
My arrival coincided with the high water market of bulk power and gas trading in North America. Traders profited and companies boosted their equity values, but it didn't last. The California power crisis was right around the corner, Enron was teetering and the seeds were sown for trading anomalies that are embedded in the memories of regulators.
I learned a lot from colleagues at BridgeNews, particularly David Feliciano, Tina Kozak, Ross Allen and Peter Rosenthal.
